BIOGRAPHY
When I began my psychotherapy practice in California in 1995, following four demanding years achieving licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I was excited to bring my family systems knowledge to clients. Instinctively though, I knew something was missing. The embodied work of Dr. Richard Strozzi-Heckler at Strozzi Institute provided the missing piece – the integration of body, mind and spirit for healing and self-development. I became certified as a Master Somatic Coach in 2001 and in the decades since have continued to weave together therapy and somatic coaching, allowing a natural evolution of integration. Latterly I have added Eugene Gendlin’s focusing lens to this embodied approach, deepening access to clients’ bodily sensations and sense of self.
I have significant experience in trauma and addiction and also work with highly functioning clients who found other adaptive strategies, nevertheless ones that no longer serve them. My style is attentive and emergent, and I am blessed to love what I do.
