Dr Deba Choudhury-Peters,  Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Deba is registered under the Health Care and Professions Council and British Psychological Society and, with over 14 years of experience in the National Health Service, offers a tailor-made therapy service that is based on individual needs. Compassion and ethics are at the heart of the practice to help individuals live the fulfilling life that they deserve. Deba takes an active role in career development and has published her work in academic journals and literature, both printed and online.

Therapy and Specialism

Deba is highly experienced in working with evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as other therapeutic approaches including, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Affect Phobia Therapy (APT), which is a short-term dynamic psychotherapy, narrative and psychodynamic informed interventions are also offered. When it is likely to be of benefit, Deba also offers flexibility in delivering an integrative approach (more than one therapeutic model) to therapy.

Deba has a wide range of skills and is able to offer therapy for a range of psychological and psychiatric conditions including: Work related stress, Self-esteem and confidence issues, Anxiety disorders, Depression, Family and relationship problems, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder/Trauma (childhood and/or childhood abuse, stressful life event), Bipolar, Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders. Furthermore, she has a special interest in trauma, mood disorders, culture and shame-based emotional problems.

Referrals

Ensuring clients feel comfortable in attending their first session is a priority and therefore, Deba offers an initial complimentary telephone consultation for all new clients prior to booking their first  appointment. This is an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the process of therapy prior to assessment. 

Referrals are accepted from GPs, health care professionals and self-referrals
